And the story marches on, and on, and on!  We’ve got a new page up, and another one is almost complete. We are trying very hard to get back onto a regular schedule here with our updates, folks, so fear not!  Eventually, all will work as planned, and we will get back to a regular, twice  a week update. Can you imagine such a world?  I can!  It is a world where milk and honey flow like water, and the streets are paved with gold (or cheese, I cannot remember which).  Anywho, we will continue to fight the good fight, and our characters will continue to fight as well. So tell your friends! Tell your families!  WTB Dignity is kikcin’ it old school, just like we used to.

We here at Hawk vs Pigeon are not what you would all “trend setters”, so much as “trend followers”.  And here we are, following the trend with a short featurette of LA Noire comics.  So, if you’re a fan of the game, or not, you will more than likely be amused.  That means that if you are anyone, anywhere, you will probably enjoy this strip.  I like to keep my audience broad, you know?

Nyota gets a little excited sometimes, but can you blame her after the glorious destruction that Harold wrought?  I certainly can’t, because it was totally awesome.  Awesome to the max, some might say.  And some might go as far as to say “awesome to the maxx” with two X’s, because it just has that high of a radical factor.

We are currently tossing around the idea of putting together a WTB Dignity book, called “WTB Digntiy: Volume 1″.  it would basically be the first 104 pages of the comic together in one paperback book, which would be amazing.  Also, we would include somewhere around 20 extra pages of behind the scenes content that has never before been seen on the web, such as character sketches and designs, and a few other odds and ends, such as commentary, a couple of unpublished comic pages, and the like.  Sound like something you would be interested in?  It’s something that I would be interested in, make no mistake!  I’m always excited to see my work in a tangible, physical format that I can hold and smell.  It tends to make me somewhat giddy, because I feel like I’ve actually created something at that point, you know?

Sometimes, every hero simply looks at the odds he is up against, and decides to go get something to eat instead of facing them. This is one of those times. Don’t worry Dante, I don’t hold it against you!

As you can plainly see, our third installment of Player Start is our take on the game Dante’s Inferno, and what any reasonable man in Dante’s shoes would do when faced with the scenario that he is faced with. Simply ignore it.

Today’s target: Capcom vs Tatsunoko!  I think you get the general gist of how I feel about the game from Ryu’s reaction to the fight he has been thrown into.  You tell ‘im, Ryu!  A star of your caliber can’t fight just anyone.

Tomorrow we will have the next page of WTB Dignity up and running, featuring the one and only Handsome Waltke once more, in his new job as the Pirate King; retired from his old position as King of the Bandits, obviously.  He now runs with the aquatic banditos.

On a completely unrelated note, I’ve been doing a lot of television commercial productions this month; I’m up to 5 so far, which is more than I’ve ever had come my way in one month.  Not that I couldn’t handle more, hell, I could knock out five in a day or two… but, never had the opportunity before.  Now that Comcast is throwing some jobs my way, the amount I’ve done has gone up a tinge.  They are also hiring me to be the voice over talent for the spots as well, which is nice.  Sort of giving me a bit of a leg up on my VO career.  So, in the next few months, I hope to purchase a snazzy little microphone I’ve been reading about oh so much, and to launch myself forward a bit in the VO biz.  Wish me luck ‘n whatnot!

So here is one secret project we were working on.  This is the first page of four that we made for the Escapist Comic Contest.  You want to know the sad part?  Apparently our upload messed up, and they never even got to see ours.  It’s as if it was never entered into the contest at all.  Which totally sucks, because they rock.  They rock so very hard, as you can plainly see.  So!  Enjoy the comics.

The first one we made was for Bio Shock 2.  Bear in mind that we made this a bit over a month ago, right before the release of Bio Shock 2.  So, we had yet to play it, and like any good writer, I decided to go ahead and write the script out based on my limited knowledge, and conducted absolutely no research whatsoever.  The results: sweet, sweet success!  The moral of the story is to simply make things up.  The next video game we featured, as you will see tomorrow, was A fun little Street Fighter game where you beat up anime heroes from the 50′s that no one alive today has ever heard of… except for those types of people.  You know who I’m talking about.  Them.

After we roll out that comic, we’ll have another WTB Dignity on Friday, followed by the remaining two Player Start comics on Monday and Wednesday; with your regularly scheduled WTB Dignity fitting snugly in the middle there on Tuesday.  You guys are like, getting plastered with new comics!  Consider ourselves grateful!  We certainly don’t pump out this much original material every single day, now do we?

Here comes the big boss man Harold to fix things up right!  Perhaps.  We’ll be moving along from the crash site shortly, I promise.  I know we’ve spent several pages dealing with poor Raz’s condition, but it’s a pretty serious ailment, so it’s worth the time.  Only one more page or two in this spot, I promise!  Then we’ll be moving on to where exactly our noble crew is, and how they plan on getting out of there.

In yesterday’s very brief post, in case you haven’t read it, I mention that we now have a mobile friendly version of the site.  This is absolutely true!  Go ahead, see for yourself.  Load this bad-boy up on your iphoney, or your strawberry, or whatever hi-tech gizmo you have that I don’t know about.  Go ahead.  Do it.  I’ll wait right here.  It’s okay, I’ve got time, check it out.

The next page comes along presently, as it does.  I’m sure you can see where this is going.  Or, come to think of it, maybe you can’t.  All I’m going to say is that we are going to delve into the why and how of Raz being the only living skeleton with a mind of its own.  Awww yeeeaaaahhh.

oh, sweet irony!  Somewhere along the lines, we lost the little “login” on the side… so now it’s back!  Right underneath the comment wall on the right side.  Boom!

On a side note, Mr. Weisner and I have pretty much finished up all of our pending jobs.  Right now, are docket is pretty much completely empty for the moment, which is never too good.  Sure, we have a side project we’re trying to roll out, but since Weisner got back onto WoW this week, it’s been slow.  The only thing I’ve seen him do for three days now is Raid and PvP.  Needless to say, side project = side tracked!  Honestly, what we really need is another animator or two.  I would love for there to be more than just the two of us… but what can you do?  most people won’t work for hours on end for nothing more than “fun”, unfortunately, which puts us in the position we are in at the moment.  And with no more jobs on the to-do list, it doesn’t look like we’ll be paying anyone for assistance anytime soon.  Such is the way of things!

Best I can figure, this is simply the way things will stay for some time, until we can really get a nice ball rolling (the ultimate goal).  So far, it’s been working out fairly well, and we have certainly been able to maintain (for the most part) a nice and steady web comic.  Hell, the fact that we’ve managed to pump out over 100 pages is, to me, astonishing!  I don’t think I have ever worked on one project or job for this long… you know over 1 whole year.  And I’m not even bored with it!  That just means that we will continue to press forward and publish more and more unique content.  Who can ask for more than that?

One more thing:  I’ve been doing this whole “Name a Berserker” contest… and no one is entering it!  No one!  Only two entries in weeks!  I think it might just be time to wrap it up… who would have thought that our readers HATE the notion of getting free swag?  I mean, who hates swag?  Who?!  Apparently, the answer to that question is, decisively, you. I’ll wait another week or two to see if anyone else wants to enter into the contest, you know, just to see.  It’s over on the forums!  Go to the forums!  Go and see.  I urge you.
